Happy Resurrection Jesus!!

I know it's been ages since my last post, but give me a break trying to get into my routine here. Well not much of one because I am on the job search, but it seems the more I look the less it's worth it. But I will try my best because a little extra cash can't hurt.
Love her! So happy for her!
Today is Easter for our family primarily it's about celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. I have had this bad cold/sore throat for the last couple days and today felt even worst so I wasn't able to attend a church here. Actually, we haven't even gone to our first Sunday anywhere yet here because last Sunday we were celebrating my bestie's wedding. Instead of not partaking or hearing the word...we did live stream the message through a church that our previous pastor recommended. It's a bit different with music and such. The message was good though about the same power that Jesus came from God to be human form with forgetting all his God given wisdom to be just like us on earth up until his crucification. I think from seeing the video of the size of the congregation was starling for the hubby. He is not into mega churches or churches that on Easter Sunday call you to baptism as soon as you walk out the doors. Which is fine I get that puts him off a bit. That doesn't bother me so much because I can see Easter weekend would be a fitting time for them to get people to come to Christ in that way. I think we will be trying their smaller campus here in the town we are in so we can get that smaller community feeling. The only down fall is the sermon is through a video..at least the worship is live! Another thing I want to mention about Easter is that I really got annoyed by was google was instead of Jesus (which I expect they wouldn't even do) or even the Easter bunny on their homepage was caesar chavez's face. I get it's history, but that doesn't appeal to me. I guess I am not super fond of google anyways. That's my rant about that.
So yesterday thinking I was getting better we ventured out to a doggy expo they had in town. I imagined it to be on a grand scale and much bigger than it was. That's ok though the dogs got some treats and exposure to socialization so that's always a good thing. After that we decided to try this paleo friendly outdoor restaurant called "The Cove" which has grassfed burgers and awesome fish tacos. I had the grassfed burger without the bun with a fried egg, arugula and tomatoes. It was delicious! The hubs got the latin lover which was some lamb burger with some zesty sauce, tomatoes and other good ingredients I can't remember. We split the sweet potato fries which came with sirracha may dip! I took a pic of their little garden they had where they pick a lot of their ingredients from. :) It's always a nice gem to find places like this. Another thing is they have wine tastings and live music pretty frequently!
Since getting settled in San Antonio, we have been back on track with our paleo eating and I am feeling so far pretty good tummy wise even in the mist of this horrible sore throat and cold.
I met some other wives when a group of us went out to eat this little British pub called the Lion and Rose. Two of the girls have children which is fine, but sometimes feel out of place with that. Hopefully I can get to know them better. Another girl was with her hubby and a bit upset about the children, but later on found out it was some personal reasons having to do with their struggles getting preggers. So that is understandable. I hope I can get to know her more.
I better go lunch is here! Pho yum! :) Later!

Delta sucks

So yes I know I haven't been very good at posting, but it's hard when you just get settled in a one bedroom apartment and don't have Internet. I am using my phone to blog which is trying for my finger but trust me I have plenty of time!
Where do I start?? Well, like I said got into an apartment in Texas where the hubby will train for 4 months. I called the care home I was going to interview with, but now the days changed that thy had told me about before. They wan me for Saturdays and Sundays 16hr shifts! Eek i would never see the hubby! I wouldn't mind every other weekend, but not every weekend. So the job search will continue as I wait at the Denver airport.
You may wonder why the heck I have been at the airport since 10am? Well we came to Colorado for my best friend's wedding which was yesterday! Beautifully done and fun! I was a matron of honor. Anyways, today we saw we couldn't check in and when we got here they said they wouldn't be able to get us on due to mechanical so either spend the night or just go with another airline. Well we choose the airline which leaves late tonight. Oh well. Poor hubby is off his schedule and needs to be on track for training on Wednesday.
Right now feeling like a big pile of mush. I have been completely off eating paleo and granted it hasn't been as bad as it could be with my stomach issues..I still don't feel great. Must get back to my routine. We did fine on the way here with our paleo snacks. Like Steve's paleo kits. Best jerky ever had! Highly recommend it. Anyways, it doesn't help that we are out in this airport for 10hrs. Good news I just found a gluten free place that we can grab our dinner from in a bit. :) well, going to go and nap for a bit. Later!

Last days around

Last night we got to see a comet that is visible with the naked eye, but more impressive with binoculars! It's a comet that comes every thousand years! So that was super cool!
As we get closer to our venture date to Texas..we are making sure to go around to people we care about to say bye. Today I had thought about running or some form of exercise, but it was crazy busy with random things. I had cavities filled on Monday, but one was too high and my bite was off so went for an early visit to the dentist for a repair of that. I still have some swelling and pain from where the injections were to numb me. I went over to our house that is up for rent to watch them clean our carpets and as well have a friend adopt one of my giant plants. I love plants, but this one was ridiculously large for us to carry along. My thoughts for plants in the 1bedroom apartment we will be living in..is to have balcony potted plants and a little herb garden started.
As the day went on we went to visit a friend of mine that just had her second child a week ago-a sweet baby girl named Brielle. They are so helpless and cute at that age.We will see when our little family will start in the near future. I am looking forward to the new adventures in this year. Tonight we had dinner with my parents and my in-laws as a last time all 6 of us could get together for a nice dinner. I guess it was steak house named Chad's..it was okay not great. I totally had a bread there a some apple pie...:( I know not paleo and total fail on that part. I need to not eat this crap anymore..I don't feel great after. Freakin gluten is like a parasite trying to eat my insides after I eat it. Also, it's like a drug that keep you dependent on keep consuming this damn stuff. I just need to buckle down and get back to where I was. I was nice enough to make some paleo muffins and brownies to share with the in-laws. They are good and being enjoyed.
Well, better get to bed soon. Night!

Packing, moving and some more moving!

I realize it's been almost a week since I wrote my last entry. Well, it's been super busy with getting our house packed up and packing up our things that we wanted to take with us to the temporary place we will be living in Texas. Stressful it has been, but finally yesterday they took our stuff. I am worried if our stuff will all make it all to us in one piece when we get to MS at the end of the summer. The risk you take with movers and having it in storage.
We having been having some time to get together with friends. I am so glad the hubby is home and we got to meet up with church friends this past Friday night for some fun conversations and laughs. Our friend Zach and Alysia just had a baby boy (Jack) about a month ago and he is such a cutie. Definitely makes me want to have one like yesterday! The hubs even rocked him to sleep!! I couldn't help snap this photo. :)
Last week we really tried to get some crossfit WODs in and it merely turned into 3x. Moving is stressful and all that seems I have time for at this point is a run. I gotta fit it in though. I miss the gym I was at. Soon hoping to find one in Texas that pushes us as they did here.
So our church plays softball and the hubby wanted to get a game in before we had to get out of dodge since he never is around for events. He looked so handsome up at the plate ready to bat! :) Glad we got that time to chat with our friends.
Since we don't have anything in our house..maybe you are wondering where we are staying? Well with the in laws. They are gracious enough to let us to stay with them while we enjoy our last few days here. Also, my father-in law is helping with the drive by providing his SUV and trailer. We are so thankful because then we would of had to get a uhaul truck which does it cost a lot. So we shall see how the rest of the days here go. I need to see my parents more..I bet my mother is dreading having me move across the country. She gets really sad and thinks like we will never see her. I can visit and she can too. Although, she hates planes she will need to get over it.

For paleo talk, well it's not going awesome. My own fault eating things that later I feel my stomach just hates. My face is breaking out too so I am sure that's another result of straying away from paleo eating. I am trying to redeem myself and just be active in the process by making a roast for the hubs and the in laws tonight. It's definitely paleo style..hoping they like it. Will let you all know how it went. Well better run! Have a nice day!

Stressful things!

You know what is considered on the top of my list of stressful?? Moving! Ugh we are having the military help us, but they never do anything right and my hubby made sure to call them today since we didn't hear anything about a week advance notice from the carrier. The moving office says he isn't scheduled for the 12th, but the 19th! Wow now I am worried that we won't get movers to the date we had put down and had confirmed online. Well that's my rant. Praying we get things worked out tomorrow.
Today was pretty chill having a nice day with my love. We went to do a crossfit WOD on our own at the base gym since now they have a brand spankin' new cf area set up. It's not the gym we use to go to, but has everything we need and we are able to work out together to keep encouraging each other to get through it. Although, we are moving in 2 weeks we are looking forward to the friends we are planning to see before we move on. We have a planned dinner this weekend which should be a nice cheat day for us to enjoy. I know not everyone will agree with cheat days that are avid paleo followers, but we need it to keep our sanity. For me it's more to enjoy gluten free options such as nachos! :)

Tonight I am trying out a recipe from paleomg.com.. Sweet potato brownies!! They are looking pretty good and now that we ate them I can say the hubby approved and it's actually pretty darn good! Well gotta go I am being summon to watch Wreck it Ralph with the 5 year old (excuse me) my manly husband! haha Good night!

What a weekend!

Hello!! So let me tell you it's just amazing to have the hubby back home! :) Such a happy woman right now! I am now complete! It's nice to just snuggle on the coach and watch tv with him.
In terms of the weekend, it was awesome! I had a dinner Friday night with some fab friends from church at this restaurant I love and managed to stay on the paleo way of eating except when they brought out free desserts (shameful I know) and I did have some nibs of what they brought out. Well, moving on and learning from that. I had still a fun time with lots of laughs with these girls. I would say they had fun too. :)
So grateful to her for all the paleo knowledge I have learned!
Since, I have a big blister on the bottom of my foot I couldn't run Saturday, but instead managed to catch up on laundry and run errands for the house. Saturday evening I went to the home of the owners of the crossfit gym I went to before to find out who the winner was of the paleo challenge and it turned out to be Justin this guy that was a huge skeptic about paleo (yes even worse than me) and decided to take it on and became a total believer! He lost about 25lbs in these 6 weeks..Good for him! :) Marcy the  big brains on Paleo gave a speech about each person that did the challenge and little highlights of things that stuck with her about each us. It really touched me to hear everyone's stories and how it not only helped them improve their performance in the gym, but as well in their personal lives and helped their family and friends get on the right track with their health. There was quite of bit of sniffles in the room that night. It's amazing that once you take on eating paleo and people hear about it and see how it affects you..you have others asking you how to get on board and to help them. It's a great feeling when others start making the change as well. Last night the hubby and I were seeing how our fb feed how lots of our friends are posting their paleo/low carb dinners and it's great to know many are taking a good direction with their health and the way they look at food. Eating paleo definitely helps me not to snack so much less. I swear before I felt I needed to eat every 2hrs a bit of something, but that is not what I should of been doing. I needed my body to learn to burn fat without me shoving something in my mouth every hour.

Hubby approved!
This week is going to be a lot of cleaning out things we don't need and getting ready for the movers next week. As well, the hubs and I are incorporating some crossfit WODs at the base gym. Hope we can motivate ourselves to get through these WODs well. :) Well not much else to update, but check out this photo of my lovely blueberry lemon muffins and salmon cakes I made yum! Later everyone!

TGIF!!

Hello there! This is a late post in the day Because I got up to run this canyon area up north from where I live and survived the 6 miles of hills!! :) I went after to do grocery shopping for the week since the hubs has been gone and eating out, I am sure he will appreciate home cooking!
Proud of myself!
I am looking forward to this recipe of shrimp with squash fettuccine. It uses pesto sauce instead of cream sauce.
Soon off to dinner with just my girl friends! Finally some relaxing, but will stay clean with my eating. Also, have a party with the people from the gym I went to tomorrow and church at the new facility up north. Guess I will have lots to rant about on Monday! :) well I gotta go! Have a good weekend! Adios!
